‘Ark of Taste’ Annual SFHV Membership Meeting
When: Thursday, May 2, 2013 @ 6:30-8:30pm
Where: Chelsea Train Depot, 125 Jackson St., Chelsea, MI 48118
*Bring a potluck dish to share and your own dish/silverware.*
*Free, though donations appreciated.*
This year’s membership meeting celebrates the Ark of Taste with seed, plant, and food samples from our Great Lakes region and beyond, as well as the announcement for our summer fundraising dinner featuring local Ark of Taste foods prepared by chef Brandon Johns of Grange Kitchen and Bar.
During the meeting, we’ll hear a report from last year’s Terra Madre participants and the chapter’s latest accomplishments and plans for the coming year. The potluck is always the highlight of our membership meetings, and this year we encourage everyone to bring a dish featuring an Ark of Taste ingredient*.  Please bring your own dishware as well, so that we can minimize clean-up and waste.
We’re excited and encouraged by what’s happening locally in food and farming, and what better way to celebrate the beginning of the new growing season than with a meal cooked and shared by many.  Please join us.
*Learn more about ‘Ark of Taste’ and food possibilities, including hand-harvested wild rice, Lake Michigan whitefish, Christmas lima beans, and dry Monterey jack cheese, at www.slowfoodusa.org/index.php/programs/details/ark_of_taste/.
